I decided to offer my thoughts on the BL-01 as everyone seems to be offering the BL-03.
The BL-01 is brilliant for the price.
Overall a great set. Price plays a very important part in the value these present, and the fact that they are relatively inexpensive makes all the difference.
Clear vocals. Certainly the crispest and clearest in the price bracket.
Highs offer slightly less detail than I would like in general, but again for the price extremely good.
Mids. Probably the strongest point of the pair is the mids. The mids are coherent, clear, etc.
Bass. The bass shelf sound slightly unnatural to me. You can see in a graph of the frequency response that there is basically a flat elevated shelf, this leads to some unnatural sounds in the bass.
Power does play a bigger part in the BL-01 than in some other sets near the price (e.g. the BL-03). When underpowered the 01 loses its bass presence and coherence, leading to a less than good listening experience. This happens to the point where if I'm listening through the extremely low power headphone jack on my phone I will choose basically any other option. When properly powered i place the 01 slightly behind the 03 in sound quality, but at half the price that is to be expected.
Overall, the BLON Bl-01 is a great low cost option. But if you only have extremely low power options, or can afford the extra moving a step up in price makes a significant difference in the overall experience.
I use and will continue to use the BL-01 as one of the variety of IEMs and headphones that I enjoy on a regular basis.
